Character backstory: Carl Higgins was just a regular kid who grew up on a farm in what's currently city 12. His dead worked at Balve, and his mother was a nurse. They also had a dog, Arty. Carl and Arty were best friends fo life. Carl went to school, and did very well. But unfortunately, like most smarter kids, Carl was bullied and had no friends. He graduated highschool at the top of his class.
After highschool, Carl went to study medicine. He got his Ph D within 5 years. Carl specialised in emergency treatment, and wants to become field medic in the army. But unfortunately, he couldn't get a job anywhere.
Then, the combine invaded. He actually thought it was a good thing at first, because they would make the world more peaceful. Carl immediately went to apply for a job. But at his introduction day, he saw that the combine was a terrible race. They torture people whenever they feel like it, and that disgusted him. After that day, he decided that he should not be in any contact with the combine anymore.
When Carl had just turned 27, his mother died in a car crash. Carl went to the funeral, and couldn't chear up after. When he returned home, he saw a picture of his mother. He became sad, and started to cry. His sadness changed into anger. He decided that he should join the combine to make the world pay for his mother. Then he found out that the combine was looking for support in city 18, so that's where he is right now.
